This Month at The Bakery!

Catch up with all the news from 2016 at The Peachicks' Bakery... Looking back over the last 12months here at The Peachicks' Bakery has been good, I hadn't realised just how much all the hard work had paid off in terms of extra visitors, climbing charts and award nominations. And that is all on the minimal hours I have been able to put in. It has led to me deciding that I need to take it all a bit more seriously. I guess the thing I am most proud of is finally conquering eggfree baking without needing to buy any processed egg replacers. With a little help from golden syrup, apple cider vinegar and most of all ground chia seeds I now have reliable eggfree & vegan recipes for cakes, muffins and biscotti!

So with the end of September came the colder weather AND the news that my little website – The Peachicks’ Bakery – has been nominated & shortlisted for no less than 3 Allergy Blog Awards ! !  These are the first awards to celebrate allergy bloggers in the UK & Ireland and their achievements.  I am really surprised and so thankful to have been nominated alongside some really lovely, talented people! The public vote is now open so if you have ever read my little piece of the internet and enjoyed it or found it useful in anyway I would be so grateful if you could just spend a couple of minutes voting for The Peachicks’ Bakery! This blog came about initially as a bit of therapy and a place to record the rollercoaster that is being an allergy mum so that if my Peachicks end up in the same position […]

Better late than never here are the Peachicks’ Bakery highlights of May!  Find out where our recipes have been featured, what the Peachicks’ have been up to and what plans there are for next month! What’s New? On the homefront, May began with a weekend away to celebrate Millie’s 6th Birthday.  It has become tradition to spend the first bank holiday in May away at Bristol Zoo, Millie’s favourite followed by a catch up with my family near Swindon on the way home!  The Peachicks’ review of Bristol Zoo is on its way to being finished but this photo of the birthday girl is one of my favourites from the weekend!   The main attractions for Millie at Bristol Zoo are the giant tortoises, bugs, fabulous reptile house and these….     Other than that May has been a little quiet, I managed to crack my collar bone by writing off my lovely […]

What’s New on the Blog – May 2016 Round-Up!

So slightly later than originally planned but here’s the highlights of April!   What’s New? On the homefront, April began with a lovely holiday to Cornwall with the In-laws.  The Peachicks had a great time visiting all our usual haunts including the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and Polzeath Beach.  The weather was a bit unpredictable but we all had a great time!  There are still a couple of posts left to write up which hopefully I will get around to over the course of May! This photo is definitely one of my favourites from Cornwall, my big two enjoying the sunshine doing the Easter Egg Trail at the Lost Gardens of Heligan!  We go away to Cornwall every year and we never fail to have an amazing time – its definitely one of our favourite places on Earth! If you caught up with the Peachicks’ Bakery in […]

What’s New on the Blog – April Round-Up!

When I first started this website I blogged a few posts a month if that, since moving from Blogger to being self-hosted & relaunching in July 2015 I have made a concerted effort to blog at least twice a week.  I unconciously seem to have made the decision to post one recipe and one general lifestyle type post a week plus whatever else I manage to fit in around work!  Lots of things have changed in the last 9 months both around here and in the way I now approach blogging, the outcome of this is The Peachicks’ Bakery has had more visits in this time (40,000) than in its whole previous lifespan before (15,000 in 2years).  I even went as far as having a logo created for the new website, I absolutely love it and use it in a couple of colour combinations.  The green is my favourite […]

The Peachicks Bakery is a year old, well ok on the 7th April but I’m sure you’ll all forgive me being a couple of weeks late with this post!  A lot has happened in that year including the little peachick beginning to grow out of her dairy allergy, baby peachick hatching and the biggest peachick learning to read! Things are hectic at home with the school/nursery run and feeding a very hungry peachick on demand.. however I have managed a few baking sessions even if the recipes are not up here yet! I figured I would post a few of my top dairy free cooking tips for my anniversary post along with a couple of photos of what we have been baking in the last couple of weeks! Top tips for Dairy Free Cooking: 1.  Replace butter in baking recipes with either dairy free spread (same quantities) or vegetable […]
