My Top 5 Posts of 2015
Having read Emma at The FreeFrom Farmhouse’s Top 5 posts of this year I was inspired to have a look back at all of mine from the last 12months and pick out my own…
Here goes – in no particular order…
Aspire Channel Swim: Bonjour Calais!
The challenge was to swim 22miles (the distance between Dover & Calais) over the course of 12weeks and I am proud to say I finished it despite not being able to swim for 6 of those 12 weeks due to chest infections, hubby’s kidney stones & poorly Peachicks! It was also great to highlight the amazing range of services Aspire provide to support people living with Spinal Cord Injury & to relive the interesting time in our lives when it was me, an 8month old baby and a wheelchair bound hubby in the house!!
Alys’ Coconut & Lime Scones
This post is one of my favourites as I love the time I get to spend in the kitchen with Alys especially as she is growing up soooo fast! These scones are REALLY good so definitely worth a try!!
Redcurrant & Poppy Seed Mini Cakes!
These lovely little cakes were made for our annual trip to see my family in Wiltshire – usually I take the Peachicks on my own but this year Daddy Peacock came too! Its always lovely to go and see my family as although they are not far away we don’t see them very often at all… plus having been very poorly for quite some time and having been visited by the paramedics a few times with my crappy lungs it was nice to get away (even if it was just for one day!!).
Dinner with the Bestie
I have included this post not because the recipe is particularly great but it reminds me that I am very lucky to have such a great friend in Lady Miss J! She is always there when I need a rant and noone understands my love/hate relationship with my lungs more than she does! Although when the Peachicks are around I am very lucky to get a word in as they all have rather a soft spot for her too!!
BBQ Pizza Party!
As I may have mentioned a few times over the course of this year I spent a lot of the summer pretty poorly – I have allergy triggered brittle asthma and it was horrendous this year. I spent a lot of time on the sofa because just standing up meant I needed medication, then there is the side effects from all the medication – joint pain from steroids & the shakes from ventolin nebs amongst others! This meant that I missed the last few weeks of the year at work and eventually decided to leave over the holidays but never got to go back and say goodbye to everyone. This day was fab – I was actually well again so we fired up the BBQ and had a pizza party! It was loads of fun!
Hopefully you have all had fab times this year too – we would love to hear about them so feel free to share them below!
Here’s to a healthy, happy & safe 2016!!
Love & hugs
